ACH is a method of drafting an electronic check from the customer's checking account without having the check physically present. Processing ACH transactions is significantly less expensive than processing credit cards. When using ACH as the processing method; there is a nominal fee per transaction as opposed to processing credit cards which carry a percentage and transaction fee. In addition, ACH significantly broadens a business’ customer base by adding customers who cannot, or chose not, to pay by credit cards.
ACH saves businesses money by:
Simplifying the payment process
Improving and automating operations necessary for handling receivables
Decreased expense from credit/debit transaction cost
Increasing productivity
Faster receipt of funds
Accepting payments from individuals incapable or unwilling to use credit cards
